Based around floor and po ol exercises and relaxation techniques\, ENCORE is safe\, fun and therapeu tic.\n\nThe floor exercises focus on strength and flexibility in the upper body. The water resistance exercises are gentle but effective. The water’ s buoyancy promotes ease of movement and the natural compression\, good fo r everyone\, is especially beneficial for lymphedema. ENCORE can help wome n: * Improve mobility and flexibility in the arms and shoulders* Improve s trength in the upper body* Boost self-esteem and self-image* Relieve some of the discomforts associated with surgery* Develop a positive attitude to wards health and life ENCORE is more than an exercise program. It is a sup portive environment where women are able to share their experiences\, conc erns\, and feelings with other women who understand.Dr. Colleen Beaudoin\, Ph.D.\, C.Psych.\, Registered PsychologistColleen Beaudoin received her P h.D. from York University in Clinical Developmental Psychology. Dr. Beaudo in has worked in a variety of settings including community mental health c linics\, educational institutions\, and teaching hospitals. She has been w orking in private practice since 2007 and joined Insight Psychology (previ ously Norfolk Psychological Services) in 2015. Dr. Beaudoin has experienc e working with a wide range of issues including mood and anxiety disorders \, learning disabilities\, developmental disorders\, adjustment to life st ress\, loss\, or change\, self-esteem and identity\, behavioural and socia l difficulties\, interpersonal patterns\, and parenting practices. She pro vides assessment\, treatment\, and consultation services for children\, ad olescents\, adults\, and families.
