Meet the facilitator - Michaela
 
Michaela graduated from Wilfred Laurier University in 2021 with a degree in Psychology and a specialization in research. During her undergraduate degree, she worked at HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre creating and facilitating the Chemo Brain workshop and now enjoys volunteering with us in a variety of capacities as she pursues further education.

Chemo Brain: The Impact of Cancer Treatments on Memory, Thinking, and Attention

The workshop will provide an understanding of what Chemo Brain is (i.e., regarding verbal or visual memory, problems with attention and concentration, as well as its effects on how one processes information), why cancer patients suffer from memory problems related to chemotherapy, and strategies for managing and improving memory problems during and after cancer treatment.
